Parenting 101: admitting you are wrong is not weakness, it teaches honesty and humility which the world has never been so desperate for before.

I learnt from my brother to be lazy and to be just bad or slow at everything, he also taught me to tune out when people start shouting. Being quiet helps it to finish faster.

Being the good responsible daughter only resulted in them taking advantage of me without even getting any acknowledgement. Now that I'm lazy, nobody expects much of anything from me and I'm finally free to do what I want.

Edit: when I stopped doing all the chores, I found areas to improve in my house so that everyone can be happy while still getting everything done on time. So after discussing it with my family, we all changed and after a lot of trial and error, we found a system that works for us. It's not perfect but it's a lot better now. I still have time for myself now and don't have to act lazy anymore.

Acting lazy works only for you, but if you want to improve life for everyone, being open with each other and making small changes or sacrifices for each other in a way where everyone is happy, is the best way to have a more peaceful home.

But if it's impossible to do that, acting lazy works pretty well.

I'm in my 60s and my mother still acts like this. I almost bled to death internally from a bleeding ulcer at 17 and she thought I was faking sick to get out of doing laundry til my stepbrother told her I looked like a ghost. To this day still won't admit things she did and said.

My parents are like this sometimes. Usually the conversation turns into how I'm being "disrespectful" by questioning them and how it's "rude to talk back". I pray for anyone who has parents like this. Really makes you feel like you're crazy or like you can't stand up for yourself lest you get yelled at.

My mother was like this, I haven’t spoken to her in years. I remember very clearly asking her why she can never admit she did anything wrong, her response was “because I’m your mother, I’m always right. You are MY child.”

It told me two things: she believes because she birthed me that she will always have absolute authority over my thoughts and ideas. And two, that I was an object to her.

It's so important to apologize to your kids and admit when you were wrong. This won't make them respect you less, but it will encourage them to follow your example.

Someone behaves like this to you they are huge narcissists and you need to separate yourself from them by any means necessary. That includes parents.
