My hubby had an open Whipple done for pre-cancer of the pancreas. They were able to keep his pyloric sphincter. However, it spasamed in a mostly closed fashion. He had to have it stretched out because it was not allowing food to pass through. It truly is a gatekeeper!

You just can't imagine that how much helpful your videos are for me . I don't try to understand this theories while sir making us understand by the book . I just hear it for some times. Then I read it again to understand by myself while watching your videos. Thanks a lot sir. Love and support from India❤

My 3 week old son had surgery to get this open. We would feed him & he would have projectile milk come out.

How does the stomach 'know' when to open up (i.e. what tells it the that the stomach's contents have been churned up enough to go into the next stage of digestion)?

So...Ozempic/Wegovy delaying gastric emptying... Does it mess with the gatekeeper's behavior? The stomach paralysis thing... Ozempic breaking the gate? Just curious. Essentially wondering to myself.

So why can't we poop sometimes and then we haves to have medical help sometimes. That happened to my husband months ago and he had to have medical help.

Meaning it separates the food even more and gets smaller as it passes through. Easier way to remember
