I am American. I began learning Russian at age 20 in 1985. It was an intensive program. 8-hours a day for 1.5 years essentially. Worked with the language for 2.5 years, then went to University to get a degree in Russian (BA+MA).
At that point I moved to France to marry, live and work, and had to learn French. That was in 1992. It is now 2019 and after those 26 years, I can say that I command the language pretty well, and I still have a bit (cringe) of an accent. Well, it's a heavy accent, actually. But I speak fluently.
My Russian fluency is terrible now. Hard to say if it was really any good. But now, I'm back to studying Russian. I am amazed at how much is still floating around in my brain.
Love your channel, Marina, in Russian particularly and am amazed by your fluency in English. Impressive.

I'm 35, learning German for over a year, still studying French... So... It's never too late. Even when you are 60 or 70+... Good luck everyone! ❤

I'm 15 years old, I started to learn English at the age 4 or 5, but, all these past years, I'd never focus on English, because i learned it at school, but, I didn't practice at home, never. That's why currently I have some problems with grammar and spelling, but now I'm studying hard. Now i understand, that learn a new language is very beautiful, beneficial and important, so now, I'm practicing more my English :)

Well, I'm 19 years old and I started learning English barely 7 months ago, but I think I'm doing it very well. And hey, the secret is never give up, just find your way to have fun while you learn. By the way, if you want to learn something perfectly, you also need to know when it's time for a break.

I was learning English one year ago.
Sometimes, l feel can't get the English skills. But I do it again and again. It is way more struggle for me and I am doing a dedicated and pleasant way to learn.
It ages not too late for any skills to learn.
I heard 60 years old English learners learn English skills.

I agree with you! I'm 41 and I've started learning English after 20 years break. It's getting better and better all the time. I feel that my mind is fresh and learns fast. I think it's all because I love to learn new abilities- I have a lot of fun with it. You're doing great job for everyone who wants to learn English. Keep going!

I think that a big problem in the society is that people is usually taught that studying Is just for getting a job or so, but we often don't realise we can enjoy learning many things, and we can do it just for these reason, because we enjoy it.
