United Nations secretary-general Antonio Guterres and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call and discussed Russia-Ukraine conflict. The UN Chief said that the warring nations were far from peace. Both also discussed efforts to overcome 'obstacles' related to Russia's food and fertilizer exports. Why should Russia extend the grain initiative deal if for 3/4 month of the deal their produce haven't been exported and the developing countries on which this deal was to favour has only received 2 out of 87 shipment from Ukraine.

Antonio Guterres has failed miserably in his duties as the Secretary General of the United Nations.
It was paramount for the Secretary General of the UN to remain neutral if he was to achieve his duties. He has always been a poodle of the west.
He should take a leaf from how U Thant brokered the peaceful settlement of the Cuban crisis in 1961.

In the beginning of the war both countries were serious with dialogue even Zelensky but later under whose influence God knows he started to withdraw from dialogue and as the war progressed there is no hope now. However much you hate your enemy dialogue during war should not stop.
