New Land Cruiser Prado! Full Details of 2024 Hybrid, Interior & Specs Revealed

Take a first detailed look at the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser. This is the US-spec vehicle but the next-generation Prado will share nearly everything seen in this car including much of the interior and styling.

Here it is: the new compact Land Cruiser, which will likely still be called Prado in Australia. It features throwback, rugged styling recalling the original Cruisers of the 1950s. It uses a TNGA-F body on frame platform and under the bonnet is a 2.4-litre turbo petrol electric hybrid, but Aussies will probably also offered a diesel four-cylinder.

New details since publishing! Confirmed that Australia will launch this new Prado design with the 48-volt mild hybrid 2.8 diesel with 150kW/500Nm. Release date mid-2024. Hopefully we get the proper hybrid later…

I think, it looks more like an FJ land cruiser than the prado, the Prado kind of went into the urban look over the years and this don't look like something you would see in the suburbs

I shudder to think what the waiting time would be like after the release date. Also watching the ABD channel's walk around and I hope they don't change too much once it gets here. The retro base look is definitely nice. Wondering if they will stop any other models after this release...

I'm here in the US and I love this new land cruiser and the Lexus GX . I will definitely not give up my 2018 Toyota Tacoma double cab long bed but I am seriously thinking about buying the Land cruiser or GX for my wife. Thank you 👍

Thanks Tom great reveal. I called Toyota (Perth based) and current wait times for current Prado orders are minimum 24month wait.. So not sure if we'll be seeing these guys around anytime soon.

Finally, Toyota understands why the old J40 is so popular even though production ceased some 40 years ago and carried over the distinctive design features to the new Land Cruiser.
So we have, for example, the rectangular grill with the text Toyota in the middle. The body has been made slimmer and lower, which are also design features carried over from the J40.
This could be a big seller, a J40 with modern equipment 👍

Certainly looks great, price is steep but until we get published amounts it will be unknown.

And yes they have the kdss system but in a button near the diff lock named SDM, the new Kdss system is manually operated by the driver...

The last gen Prado pre facelift was rock bottom for Toyota design. They unsuccessfully tried to evolve the previous shape and showed a complete lack of creativity.

I think the Bronco & Defender have forced Toyota’s hand into trying a bit harder this generation. Glad to see it.

I think Toyota is doing a good job blending tech and physical controls and I think design should grew on me... For the the tires looks bit skinny... Other than than the car looks really tempting... which is a good sign. I really hope they will offer a strong petrol option and a Diesel option.
