I noticed that this episode is a little shorter compared to the previous Jacques Pepin Celebrates episodes, which it took almost an hour. Christmas, Thanksgiving and Hanukkah episode took almost 40-50 minutes while this episode took 22 minutes.

Good ol’ Claudine! I watched these episodes with her when they first aired. You have to keep in mind that not only is Jacques a master chef, but he’s also a master teacher. Claudine was included in this series, in part, for Jacques to guide a complete novice in and around the kitchen. I love the moments when Claudine doesn’t quite get it or messes up and Jacques just gives her a patient smile and moves on just like a loving father would.

I loved seeing the patient, dad side of Chef Pepin. Jacques Pepin became my TV dad after these episodes. I was so jealous of Claudine and thought how lucky she is!💙🤣 So warm and fuzzy! No hate.

This is beautiful and I must watch it again. The rather difficult technique of cooking a ray is adaptable to other fish. We have a lunch special at the diner, where we serve nothing less than the finest French cooking at a higher price. The politicians like it.

I can appreciate that he tried to include his daughter, but her addition ultimately ended up being a subtraction from the overall program. They did not vibe at all and she brought nothing of value to the show.
