Trans temps were concerning. Since traffic caused you to end the test early, suggest doing the test again - in August.

"I'm not using cruise control today", or any other day.

It would be interesting to see what those trans and oil temps do when it gets hot outside!

They should offer the 3.0 turbo diesel. It may not have as much power as the the new Ranger Raptor. But that TQ and the fuel economy would be a big plus. As of right now the 3.0 TD Silverado has the best hwy mileage out of all the full-size offerings. It will allow the Colorado to also claim best hwy mileage as well.

These ike's with Mr. Truck and Mr. Truck JR are my favorites. Not only are they entertaining but these is really a practical test of any truck and this test is good because of Andre's scientific approach. I can't over emphasize that enough. He attempts in earnest to keep all of the controllable factors the same. And the banter.... the color of urine :)

The most important part of the test was the available space for the hats 🤠. Definitely keep an eye on the trans and engine temps, it’s screaming more than a screaming Jimmy.

I would love to get one of these trucks, but my Tahoe will be 30 years old in another 7 years and I gotta hit that 30 year mark just for the challenge of it. Besides, it's running great and still looks good. Wish me luck.

happy to see that Mr. Truck has lost some weight. Good for him.

Really glad i found this video. Been looking at trucks for a long time and been debating getting a full size or mid. The most I'd be hauling is a small car on a trailer and a motorcycle in the bed. This extreme test is definitely convincing me of the capabilities of modern midsize trucks

1:45 "I'm not using cruise control today". Really, you mean to say: "I bought a 2023 truck that didn't come with cruise control"...LOL

Looking forward to an Ike Gauntlet with the 2024 Ranger 2.7 Ecoboost for comparison.

One of the best buddy combos on TFL & another Ike on the books👍
I wonder how cruise control would have changed results 🤔

Mr truck and Andre are the best Ike combo. 2 guy's with CDL's that know how to setup a truck and trailer.

Seems like the tow haul mode can use some more tuning. Not downshifting going down hill and then shifting way too often going up hill. If it was my truck I would definitely be controlling the trans manually in big hill situations.

I’m also upset about losing the diesel option, but almost worse than that is the loss of the flat folding rear seat. I use that platform for hauling more than the box. I mean they are already forcing the crew cab on us. 😢

Awesome test, exactly what I had hoped for! Mid sized trucks definitely handle loads differently than a full sized. Need to be prepared for it. I would go through brakes every 40, 000 miles with my last gen Colorado as I towed at max load a lot.

Curious to see a retest in the dead of summer. Those trans and oil temps were concerning in only 47° weather.

That said, the ride and stability control seemed top notch.

That truck would be perfect with the LZO Duramax... Imagine that prefect combination...!

Mr. Truck is old school, I like that guy. I met him once in Brighton. Super nice guy in real life.

Now, please flash the truck and do the same exact test to compare results. I think that would be interesting for sure. Currently driving an 07 Tacoma with 350k on the clock, looking to possibly pick one of these new colorados up. Would tow a trailer that weighs about 5k pounds
