Since you are with children, you can request that they don't make the food spicy for example fried noodles, rice etc. For the flat bread always take the dhall curry for children without sambal.

Penang is one of the 13 states in Malaysia. It is my 2nd home state in Malaysia. I was studying & working in Penang for 15 years.

One of my favorite places in Malaysia. They have a fabulous night market there, at least they did before the pandemic. The hawker center there is one of the best!! The food is spectacular!

Penang is a unique island. The food is delicious and not expensive.
It has a feel of a city, (which is not overdeveloped) that is full of history and colonial structures, and yet one could get to the beach within minutes. The last time I was there was more than a decade ago.

Getting around isn't difficult because most Penangites speak English. The multi-cultural and multi-racial community are friendly, kind and helpful. I envy you as I live in Hong Kong now and to ease my yearn for Malaysia, I watch your videos. Thank you for uploading them for the world to see.

For the kids you can order egg roti canai and usually the curry sauce is served separately. For dessert you can order milo roti or banana roti. You've only just scratched the surface. You still have 10 states( on the Peninsular ) and 2 more regions on Borneo island(Sarawak and Sabah) also known as East Malaysia. Try char kueh tiaw, chicken and beef satay, bbq pork rice or chicken rice which the children will like.

Selamat Datang ke Malaysia... 😊 Mostly in Asian, use spoon to scoop rice, soup, dishes & tear/cut bread/roti/meat...we rarely use knife... 🙂
