5-18-21 You might have mentioned that for the first time ever (starting in 2019) the power cable that comes with the MBP will plug into the USB C ports located on the right hand side of the Mac as well as the USB C ports on the left.

Just a comment that I've read that it's best to power your MacBook using the ports on the RIGHT side. Apparently if you’re charging your MBP using the left-hand ports and have other accessories plugged into that side, the computer heats up so much that a sensor — Thunderbolt Left Proximity — is alerted and a macOS process named kernel_task appears. Suddenly the fans spin up on the MacBook Pro and CPU usage is maxed out.

I often plug the cable to my new MacBook Air at least 4 times a day for charging, external disk and midi. I don’t know if it is because of a new laptop but the port seems to be tight when I plug it in or off. Does this hurt my port or give potential that the connecting bar (inside the hole) would be bent or broken off from the i/o port module? Thank you for reading!
