I can totally confirm that. I ride a 34 year-old Yamaha (FJ1100). It has already made 140k km and still rides as smooth as a smoothie.

Someone once told me - "If you buy Japanese, you'll always be pleased."

I've owned two Harley's, first one was used constant oil leak problems, second was new, no problems until first oil change at dealer. Metal shavings in the oil, been with Honda ever since.

I once owned a Yamaha 650 Special, it was one reliable bike! It would even start in the dead of a Colorado winter. Believe me when I tell you as former Triumph owner, the purchase of this bike was like going to heaven!

My '05 Suzuki GSF1200s (Bandit) has a fair amount of miles under her belt & for a 14 y.o. ride, has NEVER had any issues. Reg. maint. & replacing the odd rubber or plastic bits is all that's been done. "Ellie" has served me well since bringing her home in '09.

From 5 Harley I owned, 3 needed repairs and fixes in the first 3 month. Never kept them for 4 years.
From the 3 BMWs I owned, all needed repairs in the first 4 years.
From the 2 Yamaha and the Honda I own right now, not even one needed repairs.

Totally agree between myself and my best and longest friend we have owned over 15 YAMAHA bikes none have ever let us down ... they have been the pinnacle of reliability for over 40 years ..Its A Better Machine was their slogan ...so true

My Harley is Reliable AF! Starts up every Spring after sitting idle for the winter. No Prep done for storage, just park it & plug in the battery tender.
It also reliably leaves oil on the sidewalk from the transmission😎💀

Harley Davidson was also on your most unreliable video. Am I missing something?

I used to love bikes! Outgrown it after the 25 plus. Now I am 34 and falling in love with it all over again. I was into cruisers bike in between. And its more of a preference rather than a passion. Now I am getting really excited with a naked sportsbike! Its just awesome once you started letting it free!

Japanese bikes are great, so no surprises here. I ride a 30 year old Honda 600. 145mph is till within her capacity and since the guys in Japan buttoned up the engine in 1988 the only mechanical addition has been a manual cam-chain tensioner which was fitted as a precaution. Oh and the fuel pump died a few years ago, which meant that the bottom gallon was not available. Neither item cost much especially as I do all my own maintenance. I replaced the steering head bearings with taper rollers, and changed all the hydraulic lines (30 years is too old for them!) but the seals are all original and have not been removed.
I did up-rate the lights with HID headlight, but that's not because the old one did n't work, it did.
Nothing failed, and just a few things replaced because of age or wear.
Honda build quality, , , they always had it and still do.
Oh, I've also owned Suzukis and Yamahas and all were as reliable as a rock, but I do do my maintenance. Never owned a Kawasaki although I have ridden a few... must try to remedy that before I fall off my twig (76 now!).
We all ride in the same keep safe y'all... :-)

My longest riding bike has been 1100 classic Vstar tires and oil changes and brake pads normal wear and tear since 2003 this bike has never let me down. So impressed I bought the RoadStar 2001 just last year but it is mostly a show bike. When Yamaha decided to put a ceramic coating on the cylinders walls they out did themselves and your seeing a lot of the 1100 & 1600 with easily over a 100, 000 km on them and still going strong. Damn things will more then likely out live their owners.
