I'm happy with a roof over my head and food on the table.
Even a leaking one.😊

I cut down a HUGE chunk of my spending by cutting out recurring small expenses that i didn't think made a difference. Suddenly, im making ends meet with no stress!!
Ex. I cut all my subscriptions that i could. 6 bucks, 12 bucks, 5 bucks, 8 bucks per month. Then i started really honing my grocery spending. Its AMAZING how much difference in your budget you can make with groceries! And i significantly cut down on eating out, and coffee shops. Also, i stopped going to thrift stores... which you think is a good thing, but end up spending 30 bucks a visit! The amount if money i have saved doing this is RIDICULOUS!! people have NO idea!! They think they are doing the best they can and they can cut out so much more! And i dont feel deprived at all. It's just the opposite. I. Getting so creative with cooking and snacks and food prep. I've never been happier! And I CAN WORK LESS!! not to mention I've almost paid off my huge amount of credit card debt!!

"You don’t have to spent money to get happiness" .. let this sink in ..
How did I forget about this? 🧸
As a child or "teenager" I didn’t have lots of moneyy and I still had fun!! Now .. I spent so much of my moneyy on things that don’t even bring me joy.. only because I don’t want to be left out or am scared that people would judge me for being CHEAP ..
I guess embarrassment is just a social construct that makes us sheeps ..
i don’t know 🤷

I scoured and read books and articles and now garden and grow much of my own vegetables and herbs for feeding my family and stocking my pantry and apothecary. It’s saved me so much money and I find it reduces stress and brings me joy (as well and health benefits). It’s a win for me!

I can tell you the best memory of my childhood. I would roll down the hill in beautiful coutryside where my grandparents lived. I was such a happy girl.

Being organised ie Having a grocery list on the go. Having a pantry stocked with the basics to cook many meals. Meal planning - always knowing what's for dinner at least the day before. A cleaning schedule - do a job each day. Wash a load of laundry each day etc etc. I find being organised is the key to a frugal life.

I made $1400 last year selling things around the home including 140 books. Nearing the end of my home schooling journey so selling what we have finished with.

I Thank God, I was never a materialistic person. I’ve always been very simple, the way I dress, my home and my mind and I thought I was weird. Until I found the right term for my way of seen life and living life....MINIMALISM! And I love it! 🤍

It feels good to implement a more minimalistic approach to life now during university studies, having limited recourses really helps scaling down and we’re still having a good time. Did spend $20 the other day on snow equipment but omg we’re sledding that money away! The snow is finally here in 🇸🇪Sweden and I’m planning to savor every last minute of it 😊

Last month I did I monthly grocery run, planning out meal ideas and what to have for breakfast. That’s something I want to keep doing because all of the small runs both costs money and time. It hit me a month ago how much time I was spending just walking back and forth to that darn store. And I kinda hate going, so why not minimize the time spend on something I genuinely dislike? 😂

Great tips. Buying good quality and decluttering are always good ideas. You make some great comments on lifestyle inflation. Our experience says this is probably the biggest one. We just retired at age 55 and plan to travel the world and just thankful we didn’t let lifestyle inflation delay our retirement. So glad we found your channel and look forward to more. New sub. I also rented out a room so i can work less and working on acquiring more passive income. The quarantine has really been a blessing for me.

I love your videos!
I would highly suggest switching plastic containers to glass. It is cheaper on the long run since glass containers last so much longer, with the bonus of of eco friendly.
I get all mine from discount stores like TJ Max and Marshall's.

I save money buying groceries by running down to the supermarket with my bicycle and cheap seat mounted trailer - loading up with a week's shopping without having to handle shopping trolleys or baskets. Even better, using the SmartScan facility to tot-up and execute the bill to avoid further unpacking/handling at the cashiers desk. Additional bonus, saving time too.

I always forget stuff on my grocery list so it's a good opportunity to learn to either go without or adapt into a new receipe.
