ive drove one of these the other werk, i had the 1.8 diesel and it had plenty of power and it was a really pleasant drive. Overall i think its a lovely car

I have the previous model of this car and I really loved it. It was extremely reliable and great for toting kids, dogs, groceries, and weekend trips. Mechanically it never gave me any troubles. I sold it at 178 000 kms. I always felt safe, knowing its an MB. It’s a very stylish and comfortable lady car. I might get another.

i drive an SLK 180 with the same gearbox, i use sportmode in towns, because the ratios are wider wich results in a more comfortable drive

Bland?? What on earth is she on about? If anything, I'm glad it doesn't stand out like the oppressive saloon cars you see everywhere. IMHO its modestly understated design is what makes it so attractive.

What would be the equivalent (rival) model in other brands for the B class? I understand the A class goes with the A3 and 1 series, but where does the B class would stand?

Ditto! My mum has one too. it'd be nice to hear carbuyer's opinion on it via a video. but I doubt they will do it now since the new A-class is out soon.

The new A & B class are both made in Rastatt, Germany, otherwise Mercedes have gone to a considerable amount of trouble to persuade me otherwise as i've picked up 2 cars from this factory. The old model of the A-class was also made in Brazil.

Great review, much better looking than the old car, especially on the interior, but yes, external styling is a wee bit dissapointing :o(
