... to answer your question I found the comfort very good. It absorbed the bumps nicely but wasn't too soft of swinging from one side to the other. It held the track nicely. With sport suspension and on 18 wheels it was too stiff, not stupendously stiff but at the end of the day it's a family car. As a driver you wouldn't probably mind the sport suspension but your kids will as their vision will get shaky :)

Not sure you can buy sport model without sport suspension. Anyhow it depends on what roads you're going to drive on. I ordered one on 17 inch wheels with comfort suspension. 17 inch doesn't look as good as 18s but over where I live that's the best option.

The models over here are not called Sport or SE, so can't tell really. Mine is a B180 CDI with options specified, but no sport goddies. It's gonna be a second car and we only have one kid (on the way). C-Class is good however because of RWD it doesn't have that much bigger boot compared to B-Class. If you ask me E-Class estate is the ultimate family car :)

@chrisluvjh Dual-clutch gearboxes shift much more smoothly than either manual or any other form of automated 'box. They're cheap to manufacture and just as efficient as a manual gearbox. Right now it is the best technology available.

@jo05dk they're roomy. Actually more roomy than in the C-Class. The rear bench is adjustable (not sure it's standard). I test drove one for couple days and it's really good, I'm going to buy it, however the sport suspension is awful just stay away from it!

It says on the Mercedes B-class option list that comfort suspension is an option on the sport models. I would get the 17's as well for the UK roads. :) How does your car
ride in terms of comfort?

Thanks for responding, this is very helpful to me. Sorry but what is your car with the 17"s, is it Sport or SE? And would you recommend a C or E class estate or the B class? Sorry for all the questions btw ;)

@chrisluvjh Are you under the impression that dual clutch gearboxes are reserved for sporty models alone?

@TheOne42 that was exactly my reaction, but let's give this guy a chance

Is it just me or does the front end look like the Chrysler Delta?

I've driven one and it's a great car to drive even on London roads, i really don't get the negativity towards the sports trim. And another thing, if you are going to do a review at least have the same car. VERY POOR INDEED!!
