Are you coming back to singing after a long break? How is it going?

I am so glad that "have fun" was number 5. One of the things that I've learned over the years is to not book so many gigs that it becomes a job. Sure, you show up and sing, but your heart isn't in it; you're just going through the motions. That's no fun at all.
In my current band we've made it a rule to not schedule more than 2 performances per month. This is just long enough to work on new things, rest, and get the "itch" to get back up there. Even once each month works well.
I've been to see other singers who are just showing up and going through the motions; it's boring!
If you can "feel" what the singer is feeling as they sing it, then you just nailed what makes music so great!
THE EMOTIONS!

OMG😮. You are REALLY such a sweet GODSENT - such a relief(psychological relief and motivation in the same time) for 'overworked in other job' singers❤❤❤ Real HONEY for a sore heart/sore soul❤❤❤

Thank you. Yes I took a 15 year break when I was big pregnant and it took me awhile to get back. I’m not even half as strong as I was but I’m still having fun.

Also applies to people who are recovering from a major medical event (e.g., surgery, pregnancy) that's had an effect on any of the relevant anatomy. Voice teacher Claudia Friedlander is sharing her personal journey of trying to rebuild her voice after cancer treatment that required a lot of abdominal surgery, and it's incredibly humbling to see her being so brave by sharing her vulnerability.

Thank you so much, that means a lot to a beginner singer who at some point was kind of good 💙🎼
