Solve exponential equation using common bases one-to-one 1-1 property

We review over exponent rules that allow us to rewrite each side of the equation with the same base, so that we can apply the one-to-one 1-1 property of exponential functions and drop the bases to set the exponents equal to one another. We then solve the resulting equation for our variable. Exponent rules that are reviewed include negative exponents and multiplying exponents together.
