Показать описание
MG has unveiled its refreshed HS SUV line-up, including both petrol and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, marking the brand’s 100th anniversary. As one of the UK’s top ten best-sellers in 2024 and a strong performer in 2023, the new MG HS continues to offer exceptional value with updated features, increased interior space, and enhanced styling.
The 2024 MG HS presents a more sophisticated design, with a longer wheelbase to boost cabin space. It now measures 1,890 mm wide—14 mm wider than the previous model—and 4,655 mm long (4,670 mm for PHEV variants). The SUV’s height has been reduced by 30 mm for a sleeker profile, while the wheelbase has been extended by 45 mm to 2,765 mm, enhancing both passenger comfort and the overall athletic look of the vehicle.
At the front, the MG HS features the brand’s latest grille design, complemented by slimmer, high-tech LED headlights that are connected by a central black panel to accentuate the car’s width. The rear showcases new LED taillights linked by a central motif, forming an X-shaped light signature when illuminated.
Inside, the cabin has been upgraded with two 12.3-inch high-definition displays: one for infotainment, including live navigation, weather, traffic updates, Amazon Music, and seamless smartphone connectivity via Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®. Trophy models also come with a 360° surround-view camera and wireless smartphone charging. New high-quality materials enhance the cabin’s premium feel, while features like a redesigned three-spoke steering wheel and a modern shuttle-style gear shifter further elevate the driving experience. Boot space has been increased to 507 liters, and the wider body provides enhanced comfort for all passengers.
For powertrains, the MG HS offers petrol and plug-in hybrid options. The PHEV combines a 105 kW (142 hp) 1.5-liter petrol engine with a 154 kW electric motor, enabling a 0-62 mph sprint in 6.8 seconds. It features a 24.7 kWh battery and a 67 kW generator, providing an electric-only range of up to 75 miles—ideal for extended zero-emission driving. This PHEV variant also offers a favorable 5% Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) rate for UK company car drivers, along with fuel savings.
The petrol variant of the new MG HS comes with a 1.5T engine producing 125 kW (169 hp) and 275 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 9.4 seconds. It is paired with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, with the option of a 7-speed DCT automatic for added convenience.
With these updates, MG aims to continue offering a competitive, value-packed SUV in both the petrol and hybrid markets.
