UNBEATABLE for the MONEY?! New MG HS Review (2025)

Показать описание

The new MG HS range is affordable, and it's good value. Those things aren't often combined for a car like this - either you get it cheap and it shows that, or you pay more to get better stuff.

And in this instance, the MG HS is impressive in a heap of different ways. Not just the assertive drive-away pricing (From $33,990 drive-away in Australia!), nor the interior design, technology and equipment. You're also getting a 10-year warranty for this vehicle!

It's more practical, more high-tech and much more special feeling inside, but there are some things that still don't quite nail the brief... and yes, it's the safety tech.

NOTE: Roadside assistance renews each time you service with MG.

Strange that shopping bag hooks are important, but the sound system and quality is never mentioned.

So the Vibe is the one to go for. 33990 drive away is just a 1000 more than the MG3 hybrid. Phenomenal value

This is definitely worth to think about if someone only has 30k budget wants to buy a used Japanese SUV year around 2020 around 50000km, why not spend 33k for a new car?

Would be an excellent buy after 2 -3 years with 50k run, from government ex-fleet. For half price...

I like it. Fully equipped. Good to drive. 10 year warranty and good pricing. How wrong can it be. Great video

Not having a hybrid power train or AWD is bit of a downer for me mate!

No physical button for AC adjustment is not ideal, however you can adjust on screen tab rather than dive into the screen which is slightly relieved than other brands

Thanks for the review. It's apparent that MG has improved the HS substantially, and restrained themselves on price rises (for the Vibe). It'll sell. I'd spend a bit extra for a CX5. For the small displacement, the MG HS is quite thirsty at 8.2 l / 100km. I prefer a conventional, reliable, smooth-shifting automatic transmission to a DSG/DCT (which almost always have expensive longevity issues that are not covered by warranty, as the clutches are a wear & tear item).

Personally, I think the BYD Sealion6 is a better choice

That 1.5 turbo engine in the Honda is known to be problematic so why recommend it

An improvement that's for sure. I do find a H6 Hybrid might be a wiser choice for similar money however.

It'll probably lose the spare, for the PHEV model.

6 speakers 😳 no wireless CarPlay 😞, no shopping bag hooks which are very handy ☹️, intrusive safety systems and too many functions buried in touchscreen 😫no thank you ….. but great price and 10yrs warranty!!!

I don't know cars pricing in australian market, but if this MG is always the most economical in the medium SUV market it's a great deal, and this is new model with new features, not a old car

I really Like the styling. Was hoping it wasnt going to have a Dual Clutch transmission, so its a HUGE No for me, no matter how better it may be. Pity, ill have to wait for the MG7 model without the dual clutch...

It's a good-looking car once you opened the bonnet, not so much. DSG and 1.5 turbo. If it was 2.0 turbo and conventional auto transmission, it would be a buyer. Also, can the driver display show a speedo and rev counter like VW, and what if you put an ordinary mobile on those charge pads?😊
