The word Суббота makes me think of "Sábado" in Spanish, which also means Saturday.

Talking about preposition "в" "во" - there's no difference in the meaning, so they're actually two variants of one preposition which basically means "in" "inside of something" also it has the meaning of direction, for instance:
"Я иду в магазин" - "I'm going to the shop". So it takes the meaning of "to" in many cases when we're talking about the point of destination, especially when it means that we're going inside of a building.

It's very easy to define when we use "в" and when we use "во".
We use "во" when the word starts with a consanant "в" and after it there are other consanants, for example:
"Ты пришел во время" - "You came just in time"

And we use "в" when the word starts with "во" and in all other cases. For example:
"Мяч упал в воду" - "The ball fell into the water"
"Мой друг работает в офисе" - "My friend works in the office"

I prefer video's on specific topics. My tutor teaches me but after I use your videos for pronunciation. You do such a good job of making it all make sense. I like being able to look up the specific thing and listening to it over and over again. Thank you so much.

I suppose that problem with Sunday is the repetition.
Во вторник
but
"Во "Воскресенье" would have the repetition of "Во во" wich would sounds weird. :)

A little bit ‘bout russian grammar, д, в, ж, з, г are strong form letters, which as you pronounce them, you throat will vibrate and т, ф, ш, с, к are weak forms. It means that as you pronouce these weak forms your throat won’t vibrate. So when you see д, в, ж, з, г at the last of words, they will turn into т, ф, ш, с, к in order but don’t do it in contrary. It’s a rule but easy to remember. there is an example for you in this video when you pronounce Четверг ( thursday ), the г will turns to к as it is at the last of Четверг
