We have two MK7.5 Golf Rs on the dyno to compare EQT's Vortex Standard Turbo upgrade versus Vortex XL Turbo. We also compare EQT's Stage 1 software versus a custom tune on 91oct pump gas.

That's my 7.5 R with the Vortex Standard.! This car has lower 11's in it for sure, just need more time to play with launch control settings. Thanks again to the team at CO, they're legends!

**Update - I ran a 11.27 @ 121.24mph as my new PB. This thing is a rocket!

Damn these Vortex turbos are just insane. And beautiful 7.5 Rs. Makes me never want to sell my 7R, seriously more than I could ever need.

My MK7R DSG also ran an 11.87 at 114, at a track (not Dragy), with only Stage 1 EQT E30 software. Hell of a fun car.

Goals!! I have a 19 R with a Stage 1 APR ECU & DSG, CTS Intake & Inlet. Feels super, but starting to get bug to make it faster. Maybe Stage 2 before going new Turbo route. Love the content.

This video shows exactly why golfs and other vag cars have become so popular. Pretty cheap and easy to get power out of them especially on a stock motor. Just have to look at what the galano guys have achieved with their yellow bird mk7.5. Stock block world record and now a 8.8sec with a built motor on what is still basically a street car.

Thanks for the great content, as usual. This episode is of particular interest to me because I'm currently debating between the Vortex Standard and the Vortex XL for my 7R. I like the earlier spool of the Standard, but also like the extra power of the XL. I think I'm even more conflicted after watching this video! 😂

Take away: Vortex standard if you are going to run pump gas and don't want to give up ~1, 000 RPM spool. And XL if you run ethanol or meth. Impressive comparison between stock and the two Vortex's! I've always been curious.

Interesting video, I'm currently weighing option of Standard or XL for my Golf R, I run 11.9 currently on EQT stage 2 93 tune (Intake/downpipe/plugs and rear sway are the only add ons I have currently) I'll likely go full MPI (JDY) with flex fuel kit and tune and the new blaze intake fuel pump, etc..etc. It's a daily driver and we have nice twisty roads here to cruise on, so having quicker boost initially sounds nice, but having the XL for higher whp sounds nice too when I do highway pulls or take it to the strip.

DUDE I REALY LOVE YOUR CONTENT I JUST BUILD A 2.0 8V WITH A 36DCD7 WEBER CARBURETOR unfortunately I can't find a shop to dyno the thing for me BTW it's in a mk1 chassis
