Skip defrosting and head right to the dinner table with our "cooking from frozen" recipe for ButcherBox 100% grass-fed ribeye steak.

1. Season the steak with salt, pepper, and any seasoning you have handy!
2. Preheat pan on stovetop, add oil
3. Sear steak on 1 side for 2 minutes
4. Flip steak, sear on other side for 2 minutes
5. Flip again, add butter and garlic
6. Lower temp as grassfed tends to cook faster
7. Flip a couple more times
8. Rest before serving. Enjoy!

Great tip on keeping the butter in bigger chunks now I know how to not burn it when basting in the hot cast iron!

I'm going to cook my second Ribeye steak from ButcherBox tonight. I followed Yankel's directions. The first one was awesome, I truly was amazed what great flavor the meat has, so much better than the meat you get from the stores. Worth every penny.

Why do you finish the frozen NY Strip and frozen tenderloin in the oven for ~10 min. after searing in the cast iron skillet but not the ribeye? Not needed?

What do you think about using tallow or lard for a cooking oil rather then avocado oil? will it cook similar?

The steak looks fantastic and I'm grateful for the instructions but I do have one concern about the video. You're handling raw meat and then handling pepper grinders, a dish of salt, a bottle of avocado oil, dishes, all without ever washing your hands. What happened to sanitation after handling raw meat?

Why kosher salt specifically? I normally use Himalayan pink salt.
