Sadly enough the stabilizer collapsed on alaska 261 and there was no way they could've saved their plane by the second dive. Onlookers saw the plane in a downward angle spinning like a top until it crashed. This is why negligence and money should never overtake safety. My dad was in Mexico City when flight 261 crashed. He would've taken the flight back to Seattle if he left a few days earlier.
My friend's uncle who was a pilot for Alaska airlines at the time was scheduled to fly 261 but he called in sick. That's why this flight really hits me emotionally and the pain the family's victims faced should never be forgotten.

When you read into this story, it makes your blood boil. Couple years prior, a mechanic came out to authorities because sueprvisors were falsifying maintenance reports, on top of the airline doing some lobbying shit to spend as little money as possible on it.

Not only that, but this mechanic also recommended changing the piece that caused the plane to fail almost 3 YEARS PRIOR TO THIS MASS MURDERS OCURRING.

And you know what happened?
Alaska Airlines got a slap on the wrist fine, the mechanic was fired and NO ONE WENT TO JAIL.

Fuck. Me.

That's what a corporatocracy does to a country.

The sad thing about Alaskan Airlines Flight 261 is I heard the black box recording and the last two minutes of the pilots communications. Those men never gave up. From the beginning of that tragedy till the plane hit the water those pilots never stopped trying to regain control of that plane and save the lives of the passengers in their charge.

My dad, who is a professional pilot, was on the channel 7 Eyewitness news on ABC in the year 2000 as a key aviation expert explaining what exactly happened and what the pilots did to try to control the airplane. He was also a key expert during the investigation. A few years later he officially join the FAA.
