FILM DESCRIPTION:
Commercial airline pilot Whip Whitaker (Denzel Washington) has a problem with drugs and alcohol, though so far he's managed to complete his flights safely. His luck runs out when a disastrous mechanical malfunction sends his plane hurtling toward the ground. Whip pulls off a miraculous crash-landing that results in only six lives lost. Shaken to the core, Whip vows to get sober -- but when the crash investigation exposes his addiction, he finds himself in an even worse situation.

People ask themselves “sit belts in an airplane are useless”

Well if you don’t want to see a human bouncing, and hitting every corner, and probably the head gets crack open, and the pilot manages to save everyone, wear your goddamn sit belt then.

Fun fact: The series of events leading up to the crash landing was based on a real crash. Alaska Airlines 261, which had an elevator jackscrew failure (also noted in the movie as the cause) forcing the pilots to invert the plane to stay level. Ultimately that flight crashed into the ocean killing everyone. The jackscrew required a lengthy maintenance procedure to lubricate (~4 hours if I remember correctly) however maintenance crews were told to lie about doing it to meet quotas.

Tbh, being drunk was probably the reason why he was so calm and could do what he did.

Danzel did what he could and his judgement was right also his experience and flying skills is outstanding, he saved many lives, but alcohol ruined his life.
Maybe in reality is the plane’s manufacture company’s fault, but as long as there is alcohol in your body. Everyone will assume it was the pilot’s fault causing the miserable accident.
