The Traxxas Jato 4x4 Buggy was displayed at the NHRSA Trade Show in September 2024 and I grabbed some video of it. Unfortunately, because it wasn’t public, I couldn’t show you... Until now that it’s officially released! So here it is, a first look taken when the buggies were actually first seen!

I have a few Traxxas cars, but at the price point of the new Jato VXL I would take the Typhon 6S for sure. Also, Traxxas cannot include adjustable links on the VXL version? Costs of add-ons to be able to do basic tuning on the car have to be added to the total price for most.

These prices are crazy! I actually like the buggies! $250 for the BL2S, $399 for the VXL would have been great!

The VXL version looks great. I wasn't expecting to see the 540XL in there. It should be a great performer judging by what a Hoss performs like with a 4S esc and battery.. I'm fine with Traxxas continuing to evolve their basic 1/10 4x4 chassis. It's a good design and it's easy to modify and work on. Great to see some new basic shocks with threaded upper perches. Those are long overdue.

These are really cool. 1/8 buggies are my absolute favorite RC platform, so it's great to see Traxxas getting into it.

I think they are most fun on a track, though. They like a relatively smooth surface so out in the wild I prefer a truck with bigger tires. 1/8 race buggies are super expensive so I'd love to see more interest in budget 1/8 racing with these and Arrma buggies.

Not so many Traxxas haters here 👍👍 Not sure if I would have got the 2S model but the VXL is a definite 💯 Traxxas distracted us with the 2S model for last week or so then BAM here is the 4S coming soon....yeah I'll take it!!!!

Thanks for the video. How well will the VXL tires do in grass? Are the tires between the two interchangeable? I wonder if they'll come out with any creative "headlight" options for it. Hmmmm. Have any thoughts? Thanks again.

Arrma and Corally do much better 1/8 buggies .
I will wait and see if they make a 6s version

I am wondering if that center brace will fit on the LCG Slash 4x4’s. Best looking part of the car.
