Sweet. I love villains haha. I am re-reading Faithful and the Fallen next year, and hope to finally get to these books thereafter. Great video.

I liked this balanced review, Dan! I'm currently on book 4 of The Faithful and the Fallen, and I think I'll skip Of Blood and Bone and go to The Bloodsworn Saga for my next John Gwynne reading.

I really enjoyed the series. I also felt it took me a while to care about the characters (especially because I started it right after I finished the Faithful and the Fallen), but when I started caring about them, they sunk deep in my heart, especially Bleda. Very nice series.

I started into the banished lands with of blood and bone and as I moved on reading the faithful and the fallen so many things were so nostalgic like Corban in action and how he was bc you only know him from this statue and what his followers said about him, or the giants splitted in their clans and how they are so hostile to each other at the beginning. For me the faithful and the fallen was like the hobbit was for the lord of the rings, the detailed backroundstory of the actual series. But I agree that the first book was kinda boring and stretched itself a bit long in terms of character introducing and telling the story, bc the storyline was soooo slow at the beginning, which luckily changed by reading on.
