I've always loved this episode as it shows us Selena actually caring about a subject that is not her public image. So it's actually sad to see her being forced to loose something she is actually passionate about.

Omg the acting in this scene is incredible... The laugh at the beginning, the way her posture gets more extreme as she tells Ben and Amy that the leadership don't own her, the eye twitch at the end of the clip

It's the perfect depiction of utter defeat.

I love how in the end Selina still got what she wanted. Selina humilliating Doyle is low key one of the best recurring jokes on the show.

Not until the 10th time watching did I notice the eye twitch from Selina at 1:47. Impeccable acting.

Ugh you cut off one of the best parts: Gary tries to hand her the smoothie, and she just snarls at him, and he just moves it back in the same motion. Comedic genius.

This may be purely head canon, because I think the official line from the writers is that Selina is, was, and has always been a piece of sh*t, but I think this moment was a major turning point for her character.

While most of Selina's distress at being manipulated by her party comes from the selfish place of being made to feel powerless, I do believe that there was a small part of her that really supported universal child care and thought that it was a good policy. And when you think about her overwhelming desire not to be defined by motherhood--as shown by her relationship with Catherine and the fact that (as we learn later) her decision to go into politics was a direct response to holding her daughter for the first time--this makes sense.

It makes sense that underneath all the politics and posturing, she *kind of cared* about this policy; that she kind of believed it was a real, positive change that she could effect. …And of course, because she's Selina, get credit for.

But this is the last time we ever see her care even a little bit about the outcome of a policy ever again. Before this moment, you can at least make an argument that some part of her cared about how people will be affected by her governance and decisions. After this moment, the only ever cares about the optics.

"I am going to let them dictate me. Because that is MY decision." That sums up my life.

The physical acting in this scene was astounding. The dress being very constricting was fitting. Just look at how childlike her tantrum was, and tense she looked sitting down.
