I love that Catherine wins in the end. She gets married, has a baby and inherits the family fortune, which Selina was denied. Even when Selina became President in the very last episode, it was a hollow, lonely victory.

This is such a great example of how narcissists actually act, one of the best I've ever seen in any show or movie. You try and try to get them to see themselves for who they are, but they just latch onto the superficial comments and then turn it around to make it seem like you're the bad guy. The recency bias and brittle ego that shows when Selina ignores everything Catherine said before and says "First of all I'm not a bitch but thanks" is completely spot on lol. Laughing at the futile interactions of these two really helped me process my own troubles with my narcissistic dad. Dealing with a narcissist can be enraging but in order to survive it and move on you have to laugh at their clownishness. Even laugh at yourself if, like me, you see a little bit of yourself in Catherine and her futile, unreciprocated love. Laugh your pain away.
