Victorinox plier-based multi-tools have had outside accessible tools since the 1990s! (Though they only recently started offering a version with a one hand opening blade.)

Thanks for sharing your take on the Arc! I turned away when I saw the price on release. I've been carrying and using my Mr. Crunch everyday, which I know is a big no no in the community, but it's every tool I ever wanted in a Leatherman!

I just got the Gordon and for $40 I’m pretty impressed with it and I don’t worry about loosing it or breaking it

I have to be honest. I had gotten the Wave + as my first Leatherman. Got home and watched reviews and ran into the Arc. I did carry and played around with the Wave one day, but ended up exchanging it. Once I had the Arc in hand I started having buyers remorse. The Wave felt more comfortable and tougher. Saying that, I accidentally dropped my Arc from the couch onto the wood floor and the small screw head on the saw blade handle broke off 😣

I wish it had the spring loaded plier like the Wingman. That is the only reason I consistently go back to that model. In my day to day, I use it at least 20-30 times a day and it is a game changer.

You waived that Gordon tool in the air, so now you probably need to sharpen it.

Got a super tool 300 and I have to say it is the best user for the price.

my last MT I bought was the LM Signal and i really like it for that intended purpose. I will eventually pick up one of these.

I have a 30 year old Victorinox that has seen combat, police patrol, and “government.” It is beat to hell but I will use it until it falls apart. There is no way I would spend $230 for a multitool. Lol. I’d use that Gordon with no issue

Keep in mind also with price, the ARC is one of their fully made in the USA models and is stamped as such on the pliers. They claim all tools on the ARC are made in the USA, I don’t know how true that is but it would add to cost if true.

I have the Arc, and it's good, but at the same time, it doesn't FEEL like a $230 tool. And it isn't that comfortable to use, if I am honest. I find myself carrying my Victorinox Spirit X, or my Roxon Flex more, as a result...

Considering Magnacut knives are $100+ for a fixed blade, we can say the ARC is a steal of a deal.
The refibed tuning over the Free P4 and fixing all the bad qualities the P4 has. The file, exchangeable bits, laser cut/diamond cut file, awl, and it looks/feels like the price.

I notice that the pouch of the Arc does not have a hole in the bottom. The pouch of the Charge Ti does have this feature and allows for the MT, when opened for the pliers, to still be put in the pouch without having to fold it back again. The charge pouch also has extra belt loops so you can carry it horizontally. However, it only has a velcro flap and not a button snap. The velcro serves as a mini pocket, but way smaller than the Arc pouch has.

I just wish someone would make an upgraded blade steel for the surge

For $230 I would hope the flap on the sheath would fit better.

I like it, i want one as a collector also but i know the toolset isnt for me. I prefer my rebar or my workpro multitool. The bit holders and bits havent ever worked out for me super well, and i probably would still carry a dedicated knife if i had the arc so the blade steel isnt a big deal to me. I think you're right on there about pricing out customers. The people who would use it and abuse it are also generally the ones that buy cheaper tools like these because they abuse them. Chinese tools have certainly come a long ways too and the work pro i have from amazon doesnt feel any worse or cheaper at all compared to my Rebar or Skeletool. I also habe a bibury surge clone thats almost as good as a leatherman for a third the price. I could buy an arc but it would be difficult to replace it, also the value when compared to something 5 times cheaper thats 80% as good is hard to ignore. I love my leatherman tools and may end up buying most of their tools over enough time, but i agree with you. It could be cheaper, maybe theyll toss the better blade steel into a new version of the wave or charge for around the 180 price point you mentioned. Maybe not who knows.

Stick the pocket clip end in first. Issue solved. Also, I have a brand new one of those sheaths that I don't need. You're more than welcome to it. Just tell me where to send it.
