Thank you! Gracias! welcoming this project. Agradezco tu gran aporte. This has been my perspective as a child and parent psychologist: translating documents from English into Spanish when we attempt to support our clients/patients mental health issues, will not do. It is understanding how we perceive our world and the value we place in the "nosotros" construct that truly helps. Sharing this one Belinda! Un fuerte abrazo. Raquel Smith, PhD.

Focus on self can very easily turn into a disease if you're not careful. I'm working to be more outward in my thoughts and observations, because staying inside my own head can lead to that lonely feeling that I like to refer to as "main character syndrome" where you see the world and everything in it as inferior to your own wants and goals

Why is there such an emphasis on relationships within the "science of happiness" community? Instead of an emphasis on how people deal with hardship and suffering. Since our response to these things is what usually causes us to become happier and more fulfilled.

The pro-social stuff sounds nice till we have to recognize the way that certain individuals are cast aside if they do not meet certain standards of "normalcy"... there is often no pro-social inclusion for *everyone*. I think a delicate balance of these things is what's important, cus when there is *too much* of a focus on groups & relationships, then there is a certain clique mentality & stagnant closed-mindedness that forms, in comparison to the selfishness that arises from too much individualism.

That's good if you live in a country in Latin America. If you live in cool Europe, try being a prosocial person while all the others draw their satisfaction from earning money. You will have to be able to pay your rent. White educated higher income professors talking? I wonder how prosocial you are. I had black Americans answer my comments while university member show an amazing ability to remain silent.
