A New Battery for the 2010 CanAm ATV

My 2010 CanAm won't start. The battery is toast I think. Let's check it and see!!

My 2010 CanAm Outlander 500 XT Max won't start. The battery is about 4 years old and I'm thinking, with my recent rash of bad batteries, it may be done for.

In this video I struggle to get the battery off the ATV and then take it to the bench for a check. I discover it's bad. Yes sir, real bad in fact.

So off I go to Canadian Tire and get a replacement. The new battery checks out awesome and I install it.

I try the bike and it starts right up!! All is good in the world once again!!!

Awesome G《☆》Nice Job Brother👍🏽🍺🤳I wasn't a Fan of the Smart Chargers but the Shumacher Charger I bought 3 years ago has Desulfated my Dakotas battry 2wice now. I figured I'd be buying a new battry last Year but it's cranking like a Champ. I'd say the CanAm's a good Candidate for battry relocation eh✌🏼😎☯️

That battery replacement looked like a pretty good chore. I have often wondered why a lot of things are designed the way they are. I guess the engineers don't have to work on what they design or they would rethink some things. I hope everyone is doing well and we'll keep praying . See you on the next one.

Success, my canam has the battery under the seat. I leave a maintainer on all year round as It gets seldom used. Hey Mike thanks for the mention 👍

Good morning Grampie. Nice job on doing the Battery diagnosis. I found that the original batteries last twice as long as the replacement. Geez I wonder why LOL. Great machine and have a great day my friend 🔧👍

Good choice with the AGM Mike………..I bought an Eliminator Lifetime warranty battery in 1988 at Can Tire……….I have the 7th or 8 replacement of that purchase currently in my mini van…..not bad after moving 32 times so far……….true story………I wonder why they don’t offer those batteries with that warranty anymore…😂😂😂😂😂…………great job on the battery change out……….

Yep Mike. My ol Polaris Sportsmen has the battery in the same difficult location. I did add a battery pigtail connection which easily connects to my maintainer, similar to what you did with your RED tractor. lol. 👍👍👍

I Love a New Battery (I'm too cheap to buy a new battery though, and I get by with used ones, but I Love the new ones so much it hurts!) That battery was so shiny and clean it seems a shame to get it dirty. I like the idea of putting the battery up in the compartment. Only bad thing is the video didn't leave in the part where you made old man noises when you installed it! Good Job, Mike.

Nice one Mike. I agree AGM is the way to go. Lithium is too expensive and is a pain to charge in a trickle charger. Kinda like those sleeping bags when you take them out of the bag they come in eh. You’ll never get it back in the bag. Lol. You’re ready to go again!

That is a hard spot to get at for sure but you got it done good job . I had to replace the battery in my bike just before Christmas my battery is under the seat so it's easier to get at . My bike is a 09 I got it New and don't remember changing the battery before but can't believe it would last that long but anyhow got a new one in it now . Take care buddy have a great week
