Airbus Order, Air Canada News & EVA Air Expansion

Riyadh Air has announced a massive order for Airbus aircraft, with the A321neo series selected by the upcoming Saudi Arabia-based carrier. Next, Air Canada is increasing its flying towards China in a bid to increase capacity to pre-COVID levels, and lastly, EVA Air wants to expand to serve more destinations in the United States as 2025 approaches.

I think Riyadh Air went with the A321NEO because of fleet commonality with Saudia, which has A321s, 787s, but no MAX. If a few years down the road Saudi Government decides to scrap the Riyadh Air brand and merge it back into Saudia, then they can easily merge the fleets without adding new types
