As an italian who has suffered a lot watching foreigners cook pasta I feel obliged to point out that THIS is how you do it, simple ingredients and proper cooking method, also, coincidentially my father often cooks this same recipe, except for the fact that he sometimes uses fresh peppers instead of chily flakes since we live in a small town and making our own takes time

Anchovy is acceptable on pasta, ONLY if it's also accompanied with cheese and salt inside the tomato sauce, that way you can get salty and savoury flavor.

I'm Italian, and your pasta looks amazing! We use to cook pasta everyday here, and the "pasta al pomodoro" recipe is something different in each family. Like we use to stir-fry some garlic in oil and then add tomato sauce, after a bit of cooking we add chilli and basil at the end. We use penne as the pasta and we put on top of it some pecorino romano. It's amazing! You should try it
