Complete Chaos! First Drive In My Cheap Benz Ends In Disaster!

Well it finally happened. I've purchased a cheap Mercedes and it's coming back to haunt me. In this video, I'll show you how to check fluids on an old Mercedes, how to remove old seat covers, and how to prep a car for its first time on the road in years. Then I'll show you how everything went bad on the test drive! I was hearing crazy sounds I've never heard before!!

I'm sure whatever is wrong with the front end will be obvious once it's jacked up and can be properly inspected. Frankly it seems pointless to speculate about that. That restart problem has me concerned though; classic symptom of a weak fuel pump if it is suddenly flaking out when immersed in cold fuel. You knocked it out of the park with this car though. That interior alone could justify several thousands in mechanical repairs and still make economic sense. Can't wait for the next vid!

I had a similar issue with my 1991 MBZ bearing came off and the wheel fell off the front left. Had someone fix it....he over tightened the bearing....drove from San Francisco to Los Angeles. The wheel got so hot....when it warmed up the car came to a complete stop without touching the brakes. Steam/smoke was coming out the wheel. Ended up having to replace the spindle because the bearing melted onto the spindle. I don't know why he didn't know not to over tighten the bearings. I have 248, 000 miles on it and it is still going. Its been an amazing car. I bought it with 75, 000 miles. The transmission lasted to 212, 000 miles before I had it rebuilt by a Mercedes Mechanic. Same engine... Its my baby.

Engine runs so so quiet and smooth for age of it+ town that you're living is very quiet and peaceful I always wanted to live in place like that without population and car noise . I can clearly say that you're living in heaven sir enjoy it

JUST CHECK ALL THEM FRONT END PARTS IDLE ARM MIGHT BE BAD. BUT DEFINITELY LOOK AT THAT FRONT END

I have a 560SL and it has a similar hot start issue as yours when you were at the gas station. I swapped the fuel accumulator and it fixed the issue right away.

Great video Mike.
I would get the front end jacked up off the ground and check for loose ball joints, tye rods, idler arm, sway bar bushings and end links, and wheel bearings. New tires and an alignment are in order too.
I think it will be a nice car though.
