🍀🍺🍞 MY KITCHEN ESSENTIALS:
🍀🍺🍞 THE RECIPE:
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup quick oats, plus 1/4 cup for the topping
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1 1/2 cups Guinness stout, at room temperature
1 cup buttermilk, shaken, at room temperature
5 tbsp. butter, melted
🍀🍺 LET’S DO THIS
1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Spray the bottom and sides of a 9x5 loaf pan with cooking spray or coat with softened butter.
2. Whisk the flour, oats, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl until well mixed. Make a little well in the middle for your wet ingredients.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together Guinness, buttermilk (shaken), and melted butter until smooth. Add to the well of your dry ingredients, and with your hands, mix everything until just combined (don't overmix).
4. Place the batter evenly in your loaf pan and top with remaining oats.
5. Turn the oven to 400°F and bake for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean.
6. Let bread cool (if you can wait!) for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack. Slice a big, thick, piece and top with Irish butter. Enjoy! :)
