What's up everyone!

Today I am creating this Microsoft Power Automate Approval Workflow video in response to a request from Cesar Itriago here on YouTube where he asked me to make a video on Flow Modern Approvals using the Excel Online service.

So, In the video I make a Flow that has an approval using two different tables in Excel to achieve this solution.

If you enjoy this video, Please Like it and Subscribe to the channel.

Talk to you later friends!

Condition for the response does not exist in my Flows?

Out of tens of flow tutorials, this was the most informative and debriefing. You just put the explanation in a very straight forward manner. Thank you

Hello,

Love this idea and great tutorial!

I do have one question about this concept: Is there a way to get this to not fail once a day (the frequency of the recurrence) if there are no new proposals?

Thanks,
Clayton

Hey Jon, great overview, thank you. Do you know if this can be adapted to work with a group of spreadsheets, or would you need to create a flow for each individual spreadsheet? I have a collection of around 500 that are updated by multiple users, and having something that can check all spreadsheets and then trigger an approval request would be awesome?

Hey Jon - Thanks for the video! Really helpful! I was just wondering, every time when I try to update a row and add the outcome of the approval flow (as well as the name and date), the action changes to "Apply to each" and then the flow failes. How were you able to add those to your table without changing the action?

Great Video! If you have multiple entries in the Excel Table with the Key Value as "Yes", will the flow begin an approval for all in the Excel table?

This is great! But is there a way I could use this function on multiple Excel spreadsheets using the Sharepoint "When files are create or modified in a folder" ? I need to dynamically grab each file in a folder and push the updates into a single spreadheet. I can obviously do this with a VB script, but would be amazing if i could do this totally with flow. I've tried grabbing the values dynamically and pushing them into the "Get Row" function for Excel, but it throws errors. Any ideas?

Thanks for the video John. I would like to start an approval for multiple Excel rows at a time, without having to wait for outcome from any of them. I've come across solution for parallel approvals with SharePoint list, but struggle to apply it to Excel. Could you advise?

Hi Jon, how would I monitor all columns in a Excel table for changes. Using that as the trigger to send a Office365 email notification?

I will be using this tutorial for production purposes to go paperless, I am new to Flow. I hope to get computes down on the lines and have front line supervisors plug the numbers into an excel spread, then send that to a share point every 12 hours

Hello :)
I have a form that is live, it has in it about 200 responses, and it grows on a daily basis.
I want now to create a flow linking the responses to power BI, to create a report.
The flow I created only takes into account the "NEW" responses submitted after I created the flow.
Is there a way to get the OLDER responses in the report on Power BI?
maybe to create an excel online sheet and host it on a sharepoint site?
appreciate any pointers you can provide. if there is a video of the topic id love to watch it.
Thank You :)

@Jon Levesque Condition for response/outcome does not show up in my Flow?

Hi Jon, I have used this to build a custom version, my issue with it, is the GET ROW fails once there are no rows with the Key Value "yes" rather than just passing null and ending the flow. Do you have this?
