If they want to have more ball in play time, stop the clock when the ball is in touch, after tries, during penalty kicks, when setting up for a scrum, etc.

John Bull Hayes as a prop could easily go the whole 80 minutes and he spent most of career pre current substitution rules. Helps he was naturally built larger (started out as a lock) but only needed to bulk up a bit to become a loosehead prop.

I think modern centres are glorified flankers weight wise and need to come down in weight to be high 70’s to mid 80’s in weight.

Most of the complaining about the scrum comes from Kiwis and to a lesser extent Aussies. Wildkard rightly called out John Kirwan last season for complaining about the scrum. And I say that as a back scrums actually tend to take 20-40 seconds.

Funny how people are against 20min red cards but it wasn't that long ago where red cards were only for deliberate grub plays/tackles. The 20min red won't reward that... in fact that can still be called a red. 20min red is for the guy who did deliberately tackle the guy but poor technique lead to it. Imo Sam Cane Rugby World cup card would've been a 20min red. He doesn't return but he has a replacement come in.

it's perfectly valid for the team that doesn't have the put-in to focus on defence. this rule needs to change back

If they want more ball in play and ball in hand - take away the reliance on penalties. Lower the points and/or stop allowing them for every error. Then teams won't play for them like they do now.

30 seconds for a scrum has been in law forever. Nothing changing there!

I think they need to lose the rule where it's a penalty & yellow card for a failed, reflexive attempt at an intercept.
If it's a cynical knockdown then ok, otherwise no penalty.

I think we'll come to regret the game speeding up to much. Let attack coaches do their thing, they don't need help
