ABOUT THE OECD
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation established in 1960 that works collaboratively to build better policies for better lives. Our goal is to shape policies that foster prosperity, equality, opportunity and well-being for all. Together with governments, policy makers, policy shapers, and citizens, we work on establishing evidence-based international standards and finding solutions to a range of social, economic and environmental challenges.

This video came out 2012 when i was in 11th grade. Im now 28 years old, year 2022. I remember back when i was a senior in high school my math teacher and history teacher would tell me and my class mates to start saving. Hopefully i remember to revisit this video 30 years from now

India and China own so many people, why shouldn’t they deserve a better life? Only western people can enjoy good things?

I think India's growth will be much faster as expected becuase of the new government and various projects 'like Make in India' and so on. I think India will achieve that goal maybe in 2045. I am optimistic about the future as now is the time for developing nations to progress.

It sounds more like long-term guessing.
Population growth, climate change and oil shortages will probably play a much more significant role. I dont believe that this is factored in the OECD models.

These predictions are not taking into consideration many factors that can ruin the prospect. One of them being war...

In 1920, the "oil peak" was forecast for year 1924, and the production of oil was 100 times less than now. You cannot imagine how it is difficult to keep the market price of oil at current level, in order to provide such an amount of taxes for producing and consuming countries. 94 % of what you pay in service stations is such taxes.

I just wonder one thing. How is it possible for such a big GDP growth for the world as a whole (which we can reason from the growing of non OECD countries) to take place if growth has traditionally been a result of fossil fuels usage and now they are beginning to be depleted?

It's not actually the only doubt that I have when watching this video, but I don't really find any possible answer.

We China is still on our way developing. Although we have grown rapidly recent years, there are still lots of things we should do. So just leave us alone.

Basically Europe needs to incentivize people to have more children by slashing cost of living and childcare costs.
