Lewis Goodall and Natasha Clark discuss Labour's seismic election victory, which saw them win 412 seats - 291 more than the next biggest party, the Conservatives.

On Saturday, Sir Keir Starmer gave his first press conference as Prime Minister, confirming a UK-wide tour on Sunday and that the Rwanda scheme is dead and buried.

I can't speak for anyone else, but if Starmer can deliver quiet, competent, no-nonsense government within the hand that he has been dealt, then I am sold. The Tories delivered nothing but hot air, corruption, incompetence and drama. Saying that, Tony Blair falls squarely into the 'untrustworthy scumbag' category and any attempt to bring him back to frontline politics is a red line.

Funny how the Tories go for years with the country, and then expect Labour to turn it round in 1 weekend. It's bizarre

Starmer has already indicated the type of government he's going to run. Look at his appointments, experts to roles that in the past have been political... scientific advisor, AG, prisons minister. Fills me with hope

What struck me most was that Starmer appointed a politically neutral Attorney General whose advice would be about legality, not political advantage. No more than would be expected from an ex-DPP but reassuring that we will not be hearing any nonsense about lawbreaking in small and specific areas.

"First few days"

It's barely been 48 hours. I don't recall this level of intense scrunity for the Cameron government, or any of his Tory successors.

The only downside is that over a hundred Tories were elected.

Just like Boris Johnson could do whatever he wanted with his massive majority, I didn't hear too many complaints from the press then..

That press conference was such a nice change of pace. He answered questions clearly, simply and without any drama or fuss.

It’s going to take time to undo the damage, but it’s a relief to see a proper professional in charge at the very least.

The first time in 2 decades? What? Johnson's government had a massive majority, did you forget that already ...

It wasn't the lack of power that was the issue, it was the lack of any moral or practical basis for whichthe power was used.

The people the couldn’t be bothered to vote can’t complain.

It’s a low turnout, and that means a lot of people complaining about Labour couldn’t be bothered to vote. So they should pipe down.

It goes without saying that Labour face a trashed country but I am genuinely optimistic and excited for the future. It’s like hope has returned at last.

I don’t agree with all his policies, but I genuinely believe he wants the best for the country and the people in it. Right now, that’s a huge improvement on what we’ve had.

Ah yes, must be that supermajority we were all warned about. To be fair, the only way the Tories could have prevented it was to rule effectively without near constant scandals for the last 14 years, an impossible ask.

The secretary of health did not admit the NHS was broken. 'Admit' has a sense of culpability. He was forthright in his description of the NHS. Commentators should be aware of the words they use

The full extent of Labour's support I feel is disguised by the independent and organized tactical voting operations. Lib Dems, Greens, Plaid, all also had fantastic results. That couldn't have happened without a broad political spectrum of support being willing to trust Labour with the keys to Nr.10. Alongside what would otherwise be Labour voters supporting liberal or left-wing parties so they can all rid themselves of the Tories that had blighted British politics for the last fourteen years.

Up to Starmer to deliver, obviously, but I think he and his cabinet could hardly ask for better running start.

The Conservative Party conveniently forgot the words of one of their founders, Benjamin Disraeli. "The duty of power is the welfare of the people". How the arrogant have fallen.

Something I haven't seen/heard mentioned - let alone discussed - is the impact of the new photo ID requirement on voter turnout. How many didn't turn up because they don't have something they've never needed before - and how many turned up but were turned away?

This government will show the Tories what an utter deplorable, self-serving, entitled, morally corrupt, disgrace they are.
