Honestly, the steam deck feels perfect for emulation in my opinion I like the fact that I can actually tinker with it until I feel like it’s perfect Also, your videos are great and it’s always a joy to watch them😅😁

Good video and good points. While I love emulation on my Steam Deck OLED, it does feel like overkill aside from Wii U and PS3.

Retrodeck definitely makes this better tbh

The battery point is moot since the OLED Deck released. Ive been pkaying through DQV's PS2 remake and getting up to 8 hours on a single charge

I bought mine for $256 1Tb 7months ago low power usages no stress to play I'm even learning how to code on it. I almost sold it after installing windows on it 😅. Steam deck is still top dog 🐕

I kinda agree with your statement of the steam deck being a little too much for emulation. I almost exclusively play PC games with it. But in my opinion it's perfect for higher end emulation
yes I could play PS2 and Wii U on something else, but I like to have the comfort and the big screen especially for the "newer" retro games.
For the 2D stuff, n64 and PlayStation I use a smaller compacter device

I'd argue it's a mid range snapdragon phone, but yeah for ps3 and up save for switch, it's emulation king

Was is ever the best? For me it’s all too clunky in practice. It’s set up to play PC games and that’s what it naturally lends itself to. I prefer to emulate on a higher resolution device like an Odin 2/Mini or an Ayaneo Pocket S. The Steam Deck LCD screen quality is too low in general, and while the OLED quality is fantastic, the 16:10 7.4’ 800p screen only has about 200 ppi. That’s too low for good emulation for me.
