Ssamjang Spicy Dipping Sauce for Korean BBQ and Bulgogi #4

Ssamjang (쌈장) is best known as a Korean Spicy dipping sauce. It is mildly spicy and salty flavour with nutty fragrant. And, most importantly it compliments well Korean meat dishes such as Bulgogi and pork belly bbq!

[Ingredients for 2]
*Sauce
2tbsp Doenjang (soybean paste)
1tbsp Gochujang (red chilli paste)
10g Minced garlic
1tbsp Brown sugar
10g Roasted sesame seed
1tbsp Sesame oil
1Stalk spring onion
2 Chilli

[Method]
1. Cut the spring onion into half lengthwise and cut it once more down the middle so it is easy to flatten. Make sure you trim the root end. Slice the spring onion thinly.
2. Cut off the end piece with the stem attached. Cut down the middle lengthwise and slice thinly.
3. In a bowl add the doenjang and Gochujang and mix well. Add the brown sugar and minced garlic and mix.
4. Add the spring onion, chilli and roasted sesame seed and mix.
5. At the end add the sesame oil and mix again.
6. Taste and if it’s too salty add more spring onions or diced onions.
7. Sprinkle more spring onions and toasted sesame seed before serving.
