I really loved the Purito unscented sun! I thought I had found the perfect sunscreen and would've been a customer for life :( cruelty free, fragrance free, essential oils free, alcohol free, no white cast, applies beautifully...sigh, the search goes on. If anyone has any recs please let me know! I did order 5 in bulk this past black Friday too, gonna use them as moisturizer and top up with another sunscreen in the mean time

I don't think the problem is with the filters but with the percentage of the filters.

Hello from Paris !!! I love your videos ! I'm going to turn to the white, thick and oily sunscreen (hoooo I'm exaggerating) from the French pharmacy !!!!.... in fact I think it is not possible to make very effective sunscreen while being as pleasant as a moisturizer....

Thanks for keeping us informed. I am currently using CVS clear zinc in a jar. It is 5 bucks or so and works well under makeup. I use retin A so I go for that type of coverage. Also, the CVS sunscreen doesnt burn my eyes. I have such sensitive eyes.

Unfortunate but it happens to all as you said. A lot of people are generalizing their missed trust to all K beauty products and that's what we should be careful of.

According to incidecoder, The klairs' airy soft uv sunscreen is 98% similar to this one, ingredient wise. At this point, I'm just stay away from sunscreens with only 2 filters in them.

I was quite apprehensive about the just two filters in purito for a while, since cyrille laurent commented months ago about one of them may not have been enough for one of the uva filter protection. And i also noticed that dr dray was always a little hesitant about recommending something that had didnt have at least 3 other filters last year when i was watching her regularly for her more consistent info. This may not have been much of correlation at all but that made me pause when i was thinking of picking up either purito or klairs sunscreens. Also i looked up other people's comments about them and there was always someone who would talk about getting tanned or sunburned anyway... which is why i was super wary for the longest time. Japanese sunscreens however i was a little more enthusiastic about but i had bottles of cerave am for a long time and never got around to importing the former, lol. It's not like i was even leaving the house very much this year, and when i do i've always took care to wear a wide-brimmed hat and longer flowy clothing for extra protection to my arms and legs. I've just learned to cover my bases i guess. 😅

I used this in the summer ☹️ while being on retinol, I did notice my face getting more tan, I did reapply it a lot but still it’s just sad. I love Purito as a brand. But what can we do now ? Gotta search for a new effective sunscreen 🧴

I like your advice about listening to your guts. I never tried this unscented centella spf because I prefer the mineral ones. I like the comfy water one, but my gut told me to just use that inside and I never used it if I left the house. Also, I found the people doubting the Purito sunscreens’ efficacy to have pretty sound arguments. So here I am feeling like I’m on the sidelines watching another skincare drama unfold. I’m sorry for those who spent money on this.

Thanks for the update! Is there any forum / website that we can check all the tests made on sunscreens previously? Specially following the EU standards? I feel like now I need to do my own researches lol

Call me cynical but the statement made by Purito on Instagram is beyond disturbing. They are basically saying that they did not know about this controversy before hand because they handed the formulation to a third-party lab, and did not carry out in-house testing themselves. This to me basically meant:

1. Purito as a brand is essentially a shell/marketing company with no/minimal inhouse development capability

2. Some (if not all) of their products are outsourced to third-parties

3. Without inhouse development capability, I question how competitive or innovative their products will be. Most brands stood out because they have unique ingredients, innovative manufacturing process, or other know-hows in enhancing the product's user experience and efficacy. With pure outsourcing, especially for a small company like Purito, you probably get none of that. I just don't think that a contract-based formulation for a small company can offer you anything new or "better-than-others" experience.

4. Purito most likely has no quality control department as well in verifying the efficacy of their outsourced formulation. I now question whether the amount of concentration stated on their toners and serums are really what they marketed as.

Anyway, just so disappointed. I used up like 4 tubes of their product and another tube of the Klair's one, all while I was on Tret. I've got no words.

I bought some Purito items on Black Friday and haven't gotten around to using the sunscreens... are they going to do anything about it and give us refunds or new bottles..?

I wore this to the beach, sat under an umbrella, wore a hat and reapplied frequently and still got pink cheeks and darkening of my existing sun damage. I knew it wasn’t what it said before news of it being as effective. Too good to be true- many sunscreens irritate my eyes and this did not.

Idk what to get now that easily washes off and doesnt cost more than like 20$ and doesn't sting my eyes.

Do you think other purito products like vitamin c serum and eye creams were good and reliable?. I tried their sunscreen and I thought I found a holy grail because I don’t really feel anything when I put it on my skin. Unfortunately, I just found out their spf doesn’t really protect you from the sun and I’ve been using aha/bha peel for my skin🥲😪😪.
