Trech coats are built for rainy noir stories, while great coats are built for wintery war stories

I'm so happy that fashion is slowly becoming a more prevalent topic on this channel

Wool retains 80% of its insulative value even when soaking wet. It does get heavy, but it will still keep you warm.

How long until you star in your own movie as a noir detective who solves crimes with his extensive knowledge of weaponry?

I can't lie, I'm incredibly envious of this guy. Time and opportunity to be a swordsman AND this magnificent coat. But at least he blesses my timeline

The Transformation is complete.
Give him the Maltese Falcon.

I got a great coat from my father, and that thing weighs a TON. When I visit someone's home, I specifically request a sturdy hanger, because the coat is defnitely gonna break the whimsy plasticy ones that people more commonly use nowadays. This coat is HEAVY.

That took me too damn long to notice he was swapping back and forth between the coats.

I’m insanely jealous of how cool this guy is. Good looking dude, incredibly knowledgeable and skilled with any bladed weapon, fun to listen to, likes good video games, and can pull off the early 20th century gentleman look absolutely flawlessly.
Something I could never do

A Sword wielding, Snazzily dressed,
Knowledgeable, and Thoughtful guy?

You, good sir, are a male lead.
Possibly even an MC…

Perhaps a supervillain in the making?

I’ve commonly used an US M-1943 field jacket on olive green I found at a yard sale back in 2018. Beautiful surplus in amazing condition. I pair it with my grandfather’s old leather jacket and that combination has kept me warm and dry in sub zero temperatures.

You’re the man - I love your combo of swordsmanship and classic men’s fashion.

Now that I'm completely rocking the 'senior citizen' classification, I desperately need an overcoat like yours to keep me warm through these insufferable winter months.

I'm a fencer from a long lineage of master fencers and that's why I started watching but I adore the focus on fashion. I've been saying for most of my life that "modern" fashion is utterly crass and simply un-aesthetic and that peak fashion was in the late 19th century and fell apart approximately in the late 60's ( that is not to say there wasn't some appealing to be had then) but bringing back early 20th century fashion one step at a time is a major win. Men and women both looked so classy back then and as such it is timeless. Keep it up. I just bought a late Edwardian style peacoat for my part

Went from teaching us all about sword fighting to teaching us history of fashion. He is truly a historian.
