$2k is quite steep, one can get top quality for around $1000, I even have a MTM one from 100% Colombo cashmere and it was $600, got lucky with the cloth.

Classic would be 700gsm to 800gsm just checked those etsy overcoat they have beautiful U CUT meant to be oversized since coat are supposed to be layered with suit.

100% cashmere for a topcoat is pointless. I did 90% merino wool and 10% cashmere, much more durable yet still quite soft, also cost $250.
