BIGGEST Earthquake Fault in the World

If you’re scared of earthquakes, don’t go anywhere near the San Andreas Fault! Stretching across California, it’s not only the world’s largest fault, but also one of its most dangerous. Extending for 1,200 kilometers, it’s split into three sections. According to scientists, the most southern one, which covers Los Angeles, may be in trouble very soon. In 2006, a famous study found that the San Andreas Fault was due to produce an earthquake with a magnitude of 7 or more. The problem is that the researchers believe it will strike Los Angeles. Thankfully, no major earthquake has happened since that study was published. Furthermore, the US Geological Survey has a somewhat sunnier view. In November of 2013, they forecasted that there was a 7 percent chance that an earthquake of magnitude 8 or more will occur sometime in the next 30 years somewhere along the fault line. However, only time will tell whether or not disaster will strike.

There are many people in that area, so they are taking their chances. If they have done anything to ameliorate the conditions that push for seismic activity, then I understand why they are not as worried.
If the scientists have not suggested anything that would make earthquakes less probable, then the people are not wise to stay in that area so long while seismic activity is forecast.

When they tell you it may happen in the next thirty years, they are guessing and if it does occur they can then say I told you so. So much for the prediction that may never happen.😂😂😂😂😂😂
