regardless of how the game itself turns out, i'm glad we got this piece of pure art from it

Bungie is showing us exactly what playing Marathon is going to be like: as soon as you find loot you like you’ll get ambushed by a three-stack

Bio-mechanical flesh and bone being spun by cybernetic silkworms is such a cool idea.

Regardless of what you think about the game's direction, this cinematic is criminally underviewed

8:11 I love this detail. He's so used to looting, he pockets the photo without a second thought

Sony picked the wrong game for a secret level episode, so bungie said "Say no more"

For those interested in the animation style for that cinematic. It's not even motion capture - it's actually keyframed from live action reference. Alberto Mielgo and his team, Pinkmantv has worked on 2 animated shorts for the Netflix Love, Death + Robots series: "The Witness" & "Jibaro". He was also an art director on Into The Spiderverse and Tron: Uprising. He has an original academy award winning film called "The Windshield Wiper".
I recognised the style immediately when the characters started walking. His camera framing angles are also a signature of his style.
Other studios also involved (check the credits of this video.
Also yeh that girl's drip is fire af.

If they hired Mielgo to make a Destiny short series like this, it would print money faster than the treasury.

"Escape will make me God" is a line the AI Durandal says in the first Marathon game.

For gods sake, give this man a movie or a animated
Alberto Mielgo is 11/10 in his work

Calling this a "Reveal Cinematic Short" does not do it justice. This is a short FILM. It's crazy how intimate the narrative got. I was not expecting that. This is something I'll come back to rewatch again and again even after the game releases.

This makes me wish Marathon was a narrative driven solo game. Oh well.

The team that made this short film deserve immense praise. Marathon can end up being a hot piece of garbage that dies within a month after release but hopefully this lives on and gets talked about, one of the best visual experiences I've had in my life.

This just makes me wish this wasn't an extraction shooter but a full-fledged story-driven game.

Immediately recognised Alberto Mielgo's style having watched The Witness and Jibaro. What an incredible artist.

This style is so unique, it screams Jibaro and The Witness from Love, Death & Robots. So happy for this artist to have such a distinctive and identifiable style. Everything made me feel uneasy and on edge, the colors and the directing but still, engaged, interested and the characters and the music yet made me feel calm. A chefs kiss, not something everyone’s going to like and that’s a really good thing

This game deserves a Campaign, this was absolute cinema, and the visuals/setting is just absolutely amazing

I knew it was Mielgo from the first 10 seconds. His work is distinct and has influenced me immensely as an animator .

Mielgo directed arguably one of the best Love Death and Robots episodes, and this has that exact feel. Bungie never misses.

It's a missed opportunity for Bungie not to create a single player campaign for this.
