Makes sense that employees recieved the first vehicles. This way any kinks that pop up can be addressed before the public takes possession of the trucks. I’m ok with that.

As a pure EV company, I wish Rivian success. They dared just like Tesla dared and both deserve nothing but success. Ford and all the other ICE manufacturers were the ones responsible for shelving any serious endeavor to bring EVs into the mainstream.

This is insane. I’ve been watching The Fast Lane Car/Truck etc for 10 years or more. Roman/TFL is one of the first big car review channels on YouTube. He’s always fair. He presents the positive and negative because he’s a journalist.

Hi Alex, thanks for the great info. Like Tom, I too have a Rivian reservation. I have emailed Rivian and received very quick responses. I'm down to one Ford in my family fleet, and it is in it's usual parking spot, the Ford service center. I think Rivian's standards were just too high for Ford.

I am a day one Rivian reservation holder and live a couple miles from the plant. My delivery date was moved to April/May. I see Rivians on the road now but all employees.

Reading about people grabbing multi-figures monthly as income in investments even in this crazy days in the market, any pointers on how to make substantial progress in earnings?would be appreciated...

Rivian turning on dime feature is demonstrated on dirt, the only place suitable for such maneuver. If done on asphalt or hard surface, it will chew up the tires and may also damage to the suspension. It is wise of them not to release it.

Rivian, welcome to the production hell that almost bankrupted Tesla. One area where the OEM’s have a huge experience advantage.
Time will tell, but I believe Ford was smart to cash out, and fund their own electrification plans.

I think Tom’s analysis of the Ford/Rivian breakup is spot on. Ford realized they can do this themselves and at a much larger scale. Ford is also getting $12billion out of the deal and that will go a long way in paying for new battery production capacity and perhaps a few more EV models. I also think Ford realizes that Rivian isn’t going to have the manufacturing capacity they need to build new models.

Tesla learned the hard way that the more physical features you stuff into it the more complex and costs are added. Wouldn’t you prefer a $20K cheaper Rivian that doesn’t have a flashlight in the door and a Bluetooth speaker.

It's a Smart business move to distribute ONLY to your employees FIRST! THEY are your Greatest advertisers. Why not reward them for their hard work? I Agree, RJ! 💯👍🏾

So well done. You keep it real, and keep it “funny” ;-) You’re the best for me for EV coverage. Thank you

Yes, exactly, Tom, I wouldn’t be concerned.

Remember the personalities of the companies and their respective CEOs: Musk and Tesla, from a business perspective, are *adrenaline junkies* compared to Rivian! Rivian was in stealth mode for a decade or so; they are much more methodical and cautious than Musk and Tesla.

There’s a balance to be discovered, and that Chemistry formula will balance out differently for each company’s ethos.

And yes, I too agree that Ford’s investment in Rivian was exactly that: An investment! Once it became obvious with the F150 Lightning and Mach-E that they probably can electrify themselves, profit-taking made a whole lot of sense!

Good job! We need more “journalist“ to ask the hard questions. RIVN still has to prove itself. Trolling Tesla doesn’t do anything to make them look better.

This is why I'm very cautious of Rivian. I want to see their Trucks reviewed by Consumer reports, Kelly Blue Book and more especially The Fast Lane Truck. Before I consider buying the R1T.

with all the clickbait channels out there it's refreshing to watch one that appears to tell it like it is.

BTW, it's not surprising that journalists, social media commentators, et. al. if ignored by a manufacturer, write negative reviews of the vehicles they review from those manufacturers. it's human nature.

Alex! Thanks for the brutally honest (translate: brutally hilarious) assessment. Nice to laugh fairly at things across the EV industry.
