Hello Marie-Anne...what an excellent topic. I always thought the coat must be longer than the dress or skirt.
I often wore pieces that would fit this thought but that I didn't completely like together.
I will now coordinate differently...

That's really got me thinking Marie-Anne! I think I do this instinctively or by accident as all my coats are longer than my dresses and skirts or I would wear a blazer/jacket on warmer days. I'm chic after all! 😍😂💕

Bonjour Marie Anne. Loving your pearl grey sweater today and because it's still raining I will be wearing my fuschia pink mac with dark Navy zara pants, Navy roll neck sweater and my hotter boots, with silver jewellery and Navy radley tote. Take care Paula x

Interesting! Most all of my coats are hip length or higher and I wear with everything. I do have one special made coat for wheelchair users where the back, which nobody will see, is short, and the front goes down to the knees. It's warm but not bulky and goes in at the waist so as not to look like sitting in a pool of fabric (bad look). I think ok to wear with longer or shorter dresses or anytime it's extra cold. Some of my dresses will be longer than this coat.

What about combining black and brown? Most people Say that it's not possible. But I think camel and black is so nice together what's your take on that?

Is the rule the same for trousers (7/8 or 3/4 length)? I really like this length, but I am not sure how to match it with a coat:)
