Clearly the M5 caught up, as they usually do ... way too much top end power to compete with, most of the time. That's one downside for the M5, it can only win races after 120mph! Anything 120 and under is a drivers race.
*No disrespect for either car, I have a C63 and owned a CLS55 before it, and I've always loved e60 M5's. Both cars have very different power delivery and driving feel. The AMG's tend to be more aggressive, offensive and vulgar, which I like :)

Bwoah, the satisfaction you get driving the M5/// is on another level, the E55 AMG is a fantastic car in it's own right as are any AMG Mercs but it's just not the same as the M cars. M5>>>E55

Der AMG war schneller. Am Ortseingangsschild (gelbes Schild) hat er ausrollen lassen bzw. ist dann auf die Bremse gegangen, darumt konnte der BMW dann noch aufholen. Auf dem Papier hat der E55 AMG nur 476 PS, tatsächlich jedoch fährt kein E55 mit unter 500 PS herum. Beim BMW ist es genau anders herum: Der hat keine 507 PS, der liefert real nur 485 PS (siehe Prüfstand). Der BMW hat auch nur 520 Nm, wo der AMG 700 Nm in den Asphalt drückt, da kommt der BMW nich mit. Der Kompressor im AMG zerlegt den BMW dann endgültig. Der BMW muss erst mal aus seinen 2 Turboladern Luft holen und hängt im Turboloch fest. Der AMG hat auch noch nen halben Liter mehr Hubraum. Mich wundert das Ergebnis überhaupt nicht. Schade, dass es sowas heute nur noch bei Jaguar gibt. Einziger Pluspunkt aus meiner Sicht für den BMW: Man kann sagen, dass man nen V10 hat. Aber was das nutzt, steht auf nem anderen Blatt Papier. Ist wie mit dem Bugatti: Braucht 8 Liter Hubraum und 16 Töpfe für die Leistung, die der Koenigsegg mit 5.0 Litern und 8 Töpfen macht. Bei fahren über 400 km/h.

0-100kms/h then 0-200km/h then a rolling race from 80 to 200 km/h.

By the way, the cars have different profiles. The Amg is more of a race oriented car, while the M5 is more of a whole complete package.

I don’t know what people are talking about, BMW should have won by far because is a V10 and the Mercedes is V8 but still AMG power 💪
