As Buckingham Palace announced that Queen Consort Camilla will not wear the Queen Mother's crown embedded with the Kohinoor diamond for Britain's King Charles's coronation, the debate on returning the jewel to India re-ignited. Recently, an Indian-origin journalist, Narinder Kaur, argued on a UK show that the crown jewel should be returned to India and asserted that it represents Britain's dark brutal colonial past. She was responding to writer and broadcaster of GB News Emma Webb's argument that the diamond's ownership can be disputed. Watch for more information.

I can't believe the English woman's response was that if the British started returning all the artifacts their museums would be empty.

India simply needs to Keep Calm And Carry On! With the ongoing economic trends in India & UK, one day, UK will give India the diamond in exchange for financial aid!

3xactly. Why is Britain keeping our Gods, our statues, our art, locked up in their museums. It hurts Indians and reminds them of colonial loot, atrocities. The evils of British Raj. Return them, with respect and apology. It belongs to India. Kohinoor is Indias glory, Britains shame. No theif can claim looted things as its property. What friendship is that? You still treat Indians inferior to you. Then, expect our love

Kohinoor or the ' Syamantaka Mani', the ancient diamond, mentioned in the Purana, and the Peacock Throne belonged to Maharajah Vikramaditya. It breaks our heart how our ancient history was tampered with as in ancient India there were no historians to scribe. Please know that India has gone through a lot... Please respect the history of nations.

It's sensible, meaningful and decent responsible to give back to India, as they do not have200years colonial ruling museum .

This Emma Webb is very thick. Does she not know that the Kohinoor diamond was quarried in Andhra Pradesh/Karnataka - the diamond was born there during the Kakatya dynasty around 1310. The diamond needs to go home.

Kohinoor is just a symbol of british repression. What Indians really want is reparations from British government paid to the accounts of the bottom 70percent Indians whom the British rule had left impoverished.
Germany paid France reparations to the amount of 4billion dollars for a mere 4 year long occupation. It's fair to estimate that British govt owes India more than 200 billion USD in reparations.

The value of wealth stolen by British from India in 200 years of rule is $45 trillion. At 6% simple interest the dues comes to $ 2800 trillion dollars.
To days British are not responsible for all the loot/attrocities but atleast they are legal heirs to stolen goods/wèalth.
In banking paralence a stolen goods doesn't get a proper title.Doesnt this apply to English.
speaking British?
Any stolen wealth is found in London Museum.
The Germans are better when they returned 300, skulls of Nigerian along with 22 bronze idols stolen by them.

It's funny that the white lady was arguing that since other empires stole the diamond from India, it's perfectly fine for Britain to do so and that "history is complex". Lol what does history being complex have anything to do with robbery? The fact that the government decided to remove the jewel for the coronation shows that they recognize the jewel's true ownership doesn't lie with them, but rather to India. The white lady is wrong about the Persians having it first. The jewel was mined in Andhra Pradesh, where my mother and my ancestors are from. It was created deep under Indian soil and it belongs here.

Lol if the supreme court said it's a gift then what are we Indians demanding??? Ain't it a shame?? On the contrary has the supreme court judge the truth about the case? If not then they should resign because they are making the things complicated. They are not fit to sit on the most prestigious justice system of India. We are proud of our constitution, our country and culture. Declare the truth to the people please your honour.

KOHINOOR- World 's Most Infamous Conflict Diamond
We, all of South Asia, hereby, ask the the Britishers to consider the fact that why is their Queen wearing in her Crown, , the Kohinoor Diamond .
Kohinoor Diamond, is the most well known Conflict Diamond which was taken as booty by the East India Company from the Lahore Darbar of successors of Sher - e- Punjab, Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
( Maharaja Ranjit Singh had Willed Kohinoor Diamond to the Temple of Jagan Nath Puri ( Odhisha )
Britishers should appreciate that it is most inappropriate and unethical for their Queen to wear a Looted Jewel.
