"He is very comfortable on his feet".
Ehmmmm... If that was a joke, it was a really good one.

Dr House is the medicine world's response to Sherlock Holmes.

A mistake is only a mistake if the end result is not what we desired or predicted. (And sometimes, it is very crucial, as when a patient die.)

But in other cases, as with an artist, a "mistake" can become something beautiful.

I've watched house since i was 8 and I've seen every episode at least twice. He is based off Sherlock Holmes (Holmes/house, Watson/Wilson, and they both live in apartment 221B on Baker Street). House is without a doubt, my favorite TV show. i'm glad you made this video, even if i knew this, because it's a good reminder and it's just generally interesting to watch (i also have been watching your other videos since they are also interesting to watch).

i could add much more, but i really shouldn't since it would be a bit too much.

I take this as a sign to start watching House again. You know, to study the way he thinks ;)

Doing a binary search for a marble isn't an example of "reasoning backwards."

imo, how to think like dr.house

when ever you narrow down you differential diagnosis to a probable one skip the investigations and go straight to the treatment and if it fails then wait for next episode something will surprisingly inspire you to the diagnosis

Nice work, just once correction. He uses both deductive and inductive reasoning for most of his cases and occasionally uses reductive now and then. Perhaps an opportunity for a future video to expand on their applications?

To be straight forward like House, you gotta be extremely confident. To be confident, you should have in depth knowledge. Knowledge is the key.

Besides the fact that learning from your mistakes is a good thing overall, House did not really do this in general. He did not change, he kept alienating the ones close to him, he tried to get better but as he said himself, people don't change, he still was miserable to the end.

I got so CHOCKED when I saw that your channel has grown so much in such a short period of time! Literally jumped out of my chair

I knew it, because there's something so unique about your channel. And the videos are so valuable. Keep it up!

I have always learned from my mistakes and made different mistakes afterwards. The problem is now I am an expert in mistakes and in every situation I can anticipate hundreds of ways that it can go wrong... which ends up with the problem that I don't do anything anymore because I know anything I'll do will be a mistake I have done before!

Great video man! Been a big fan of House for a very long time so it was interesting to see what you had to say about his methods. Keep up the good work!

Nicely explained and most of it is true. But House is a fictional character, an actor's representation of what script writers imagined. We can't just analyze this as facts of how life works.

You forgot to mention his brilliant abilities of deduction, being able to read people. And the one important rule he always remembers when finding a diagnosis, everybody lies.
