I had the pleasure of meeting Pete Buttigieg twice: once in 2011 when he was first running for mayor of South Bend and again in 2017 at a Detroit DNC debate. He is one of the most intelligent and engaging people I’ve ever met. At the 2011 event, there were maybe 40 of us there. He literally stood up on a (soap) box to deliver a short dynamic talk to the group. He’s a guy you want on your team. I’d pay good money to see him debate Vance.
